Just as trial attorneys demonstrate expertise in trying cases at the trial court level, handling appeals before the appellate courts also requires expertise. The rules on appeal are different from those in the trial court. Even with able appellate counsel, in some cases it may be useful to solicit the input and insights of a neutral third party, a legal consultant who has the relevant appellate litigation experience and expertise.

My 11-year tenure on the appellate court, coupled with my years on the trial court, have given me that experience and expertise. If retained, I would work collaboratively with appellate counsel.
